What is Japan Night?

A Celebration of Diversity, Education, Children, and Japanese Culture

*This is a free event for ALL John Stanford International School families.

At this event, we celebrate the art, music, food, and popular culture of Japan. There are free activities and games for students. Tasty Japanese dishes are available.

You can support Japan Night by ordering a t-shirt!

Please place your pre-orders by Friday February 14th.

Location

JSIS Gym and Cafeteria.

Schedule

  • 6:00 pm – Japan Night begins

  • 6:30 pm  - Performance by all Japanese classes in the gym Performance order: 3rd, K, 1st, 2nd, 4th, and 5th Grade

  • 7:30 pm - All grades performance ends

  • 8:00 pm – Japan Night ends

Booths - Activities & Games

  • Stamp card – Kids can collect/earn 5 stamps by participating in games & craft-making, and they can win a prize!

  • Shuriken Challenge. You are a Ninja Warrior and throw a hand crafted paper Shuriken to hit balloon targets!  All participants can get a participation prize. 

  • Yukata. Kids dress up in Kimono and take a picture at the booth.

  • Mizu Fusen (Water balloon Fishing).  Kids fishing for balloons from kiddie pools, outside & under cover.
